Franz was 69 years old when it became clear that his apartment could no longer keep up with him. A chronic illness, a brain tumor, a mobility impairment—and ultimately the realization that his home no longer had a future. It offered neither a safe environment nor sufficient comfort.

Looking back, it became clear: it wasn’t the big things that were missing. It was small, smart decisions—timely solutions to problems. A plan. Someone thinking ahead. Franz passed away in 2025 at the age of 71. His journey was the impetus for bringing Franz & du to life.

Today, Franz & du provides honest, expert advice and designs living spaces that are functional, stylish, and planned with foresight. Because life changes—sometimes unexpectedly, maybe gradually, but always. And your home should be able to grow with you.
